Dear Makayla Jo,
This month has just flown by. I have been so busy with working my real job and my photography business has been insanely busy I have felt a lot of mommy-guilt this month. There is just not enough time in the day! But we do make the best of the time we get together. And, this busy holiday photography season will be over in a week or two. Thanks for hanging in there with me.
You are getting so big. You are so heavy, strong, and tall. You are becoming more independent, and you are starting to do a lot of things on your own. You definitely want to help us with whatever we are doing. You are one nosey little girl and have to be the center of everything. You are pretty much over all of your toys in this house, and you just want to read and color and do things that aren’t baby-ish.
You are still drinking milk out of a bottle at night and you are still using your paci’s way too much. I’m not going to freak out about it until you turn two. We are probably going to try to start potty training you soon and I have to admit I’m not looking forward to it.
You are getting your last two teeth on the bottom, then I believe you have a full set of choppers. Surprisingly enough, teething recently hasn’t really been that big of a deal. Although, you have hit a sleep regression over the past few weeks. It started with you wanting us to rub your back at night until you fall asleep. Then it turned into full blown crying until you fell asleep. Now, you are waking up several times a night crying “mommy! mommy!” luckily, you go right back to sleep when I come in and rub your back.
You got VERY sick this past week. You decided to devour clementines while i was cooking dinner. I knew you ate them quickly but I had no idea that you SWALLOWED them WHOLE until you started puking for 4 hours later that night. 4 different locations in the house, including your bed AND mommy & daddy’s bed, 3 laundry loads, and 1 visit from grandma at 10 pm later, you finally felt better and went back to sleep at midnight. Chew your food, girl!
Your new baby cousin Zoey was born this week. You visited her in the hospital and you have her the side-eye. Can’t wait to see you girls grow up together.
You are growing way too quickly, little lady. Looking forward to celebrating Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, and Christmas with you this year.
