The Best of 2013

I can’t believe it’s the very last day of 2013. This year was probably the fastest year of my life.

I’ve never been busier, and honestly, I don’t know how I am able to balance everythigng. I am still working full time as a RN, doing photo sessions practically every weekend, and keeping up with my Etsy Shop. I have a lot of “mommy guilt”, especially when I leave Makayla on the weekends for sessions, but I am so passionate about photography it makes it all worth while to love what I do. One of my goals for 2014 is to find more balance. Looking back on my goals for 2013, I was pleasantly surprised that I tackled a lot of them!

  1. Lose 20 lbs. well, does 15# count?
  2. Figure out my stomach issues. Lactose intolerant? Gluten intolerant? definitely not as bad, but sometimes still happens. All tests were inconclusive.
  3. Pay off one (or both!) credit cards.
  4. Meal plan, grocery shop in bulk, prepare more. Groceries online?
  5. Care more about my appearance (i.e. do my hair & makeup)
  6. Take a real vacation
  7. Continue to do work on the house (kitchen remodel? laundry room upstairs? backyard landscaped?)
  8. Finish the play room
  9. Decide if there will be a baby #2
  10. Exercise at least 3 days a week. Home videos? Home treadmill or elliptical? does running after a toddler count?
  11. Stay organized and DE-clutter
  12. Organize bills/important documents in a a file system
  13. Get my home “office” desk set up & organized to use on a daily basis
  14. try 1 new recipe a month
  15. backup all pictures and important documents – HA! Nope, didn’t happen. And guess what. My computer crashed in July.
  16. Read more.
  17. decorate master bedroom (art, linens, towels, etc).
  18. Re-vamp my design business. Keep my website/blog up to date and add new products frequently.
  19. Add more printed products – labels I can print from home, easy designs I can print & ship from online labs.
  20. Work on my photography. Get my camera out AT LEAST once a week.

2013 was such an amazing year for my photography business. In May of 2013 I finally jumped in and “officially” went into business.  Since then, I have had over 30 sessions, I am so thankful for each and every person that has allowed me to photograph them this year!

I am so blessed to be doing what I love. Thank You.

2013 will be hard to beat, but hope 2014 is even better!
